"They say that first impressions are important, and there are few who make such a powerful first impression as Clare Rooney. She’s fit, strong, intelligent and confident – and as such is a great representative of the Poliquin International Certification Program. She is the highest ranked PICP female in Europe."

"I first met Clare almost four years ago on a training course in Ireland. I was blown away by her knowledge back then, and she has only continued to expand and build on that further in the passing years. I am not always that bullish on the standards and quality control in the personal training industry, but it is without any hyperbole that I can say that if more trainers were like Clare we would all receive and deserve a hell of a lot more respect. She is proof positive that being highly knowledgeable wearing the broad based hat of the personal trainer is a very challenging and complicated mandate that requires energy, passion and commitment at all times. She embodies the dual qualities that very few have, but all need, by being both book learned as well as possessing the intimate gym knowledge that only comes with years of experience. If you are in the Galway area of Ireland you have my strongest advice to look Clare up if you want to get fitter, leaner and healthier."

"Prior to meeting Clare I was on a ‘no-fat’ diet and doing lots of cardio and wondering why I wasn’t seeing any results? Clare opened my eyes to all the mis-information out there with regard to nutrition & exercise. After my first two weeks with Clare I lost 8lbs just by adjusting my diet and switching to strength training. Clare gave me the tools to establish a health regime which is accessible and doable once you make the commitment. Clare is like a walking encyclopaedia on all things health and nutrition related. I challenge you to find better!"

" In 2007 I was diagnosed with Ulcerative colitis, an inflammatory bowel disease that affects the lining of the large intestine.I had lost a lot of weight and was in constant pain. My consultant told me that there was no cure for my illness and that I would have to be taking medication for the rest of my life. Through the professional coaching and mentoring of Clare Rooney I got my body back to full health. I haven't taken any medication since meeting Clare and that was four years ago. Clare showed me what foods were the correct foods for my body using Metabolic typing. Because of the Metabolic typing my body healed itself. To add to this, and because of the food I eat now and my new understanding of food I am now, fitter, more focused and have a healthier outlook on life."

"I have been a client of Clare's for 4 years now, since the birth of my first baby. Having had my first child, I was battling to lose the mummy-tummy.
Then I saw how a work colleague had transformed his body having been to Clare for personal training.
After a couple of sessions it was clear to me that Clare really knows what she is talking about.
First thing was an overhaul of my diet , I thought I was eating healthy eating a low fat, high carbohydrate diet, but using Clare's metabolic typing method, it turns out it was exactly the type of diet I shouldn't have been following. I had to retrain my eating habits and learn how to balance my blood sugar levels.
I now have increased energy levels , I no longer feel bloated and I am really enjoying the food that I denied myself for so long. It feels good to be nurturing my body with good food , no more fad diets or starving it of necessary fats.
My exercise regime generally consisted of a daily walk. When I did go into a gym class, I would end up wondering why my neck was screaming at me when I tried to do sit ups, or when doing exercises I'd end up with pain in my left hip? I had resigned myself to not being the ' sporty type'.
Clare did a complete analysis of my body and was able to identify my weak areas, and made a specific programme to rebalance my muscles.
Clare introduced me to pilates and weight training . I am delighted to have eventually found a type of exercise that makes sense to me and now feel that I am working with my body to correct and strengthen it instead of forcing it to do exercises that were causing me pain. The results are I now have a body that is functioning correctly ( I no longer feel pain in the wrong places when exercising ! ) , my posture has improved significantly, I've got stronger and leaner , My confidence has improved and not to forget to mention I look better in my jeans.
I was never a 'sporty 'child and It has been really empowering for me to take responsibility for my own health and fitness and with Clare's guidance I feel a lot fitter and healthier now in my late thirties (after having two children) than I did in my early twenties.
I'm a busy working mother of two small children, and I don't have hours to spend in the gym. What Clare has taught me is that I don't have to spend hours in the gym to stay fit , get the benefit of exercise and look good.
I love the fact that my work-outs are not a generic work-out handed out to everyone but its specifically designed for my body with its strengths and its weaknesses.
With Clare's vast knowledge and experience in the field I just have to turn up for my work out and Clare pretty much does everything else.
What has also been very important to me is that Clare knows when to push me that little bit further or if I am tired after a sleepless night with the children she knows to not push me so hard that day. I always come away from Clare's work-outs feeling great and energised.
Clare has been the motivating force behind, not only my fitness, but also my overall health, and in turn the health of my family. "

I have been a habitual gym-goer and sporadic yoga enthusiast for many years. I would start a training program at the gym with the best of intentions but would lose interest after a while as I got used to the program and grew tired of doing the same round of exercises over and over again. I enjoyed yoga classes but found that while I felt better for them there was no apparent improvement in my physique, fitness or strength.
I have been going to personal training sessions with Clare Rooney for six months now. It was a bit daunting at first, Clare did a very thorough assessment on me before we began training and then devised a program specific to me. Every moving part of my body was tested and all my weaknesses were identified.
At first I found the sessions really hard and dreaded certain parts of the program but as I progressed through it and my body became competent I really began to enjoy it. The sense of achievement in being able to do something with ease which had been really demanding at first gave me a great confident boost and eager for new challenges.
The really surprising thing about personal training with Clare is that after the initial effort of coming to see her and committing to it the rest has been easy! Before, I worked much harder, spending hours in the gym sweating it out on the treadmill and bike with minimal results. Now, I attend two to three 1-hour sessions per week. Each session is a progression on the last so the exercises are getting more demanding as I go along and as it is always challenging - I don’t get bored with it. The mixture of Pilates and weight training also makes the sessions much more interesting and balanced.
Six months down the line I feel like a new (improved) person. I am strong, I have lost weight where I needed to lose it, my body shape has changed for the better – I am now lean and toned everywhere...I cannot believe the transformation and I intend to keep it up!
